For the title I just put my iTunes on random and put the title of the second song that came up. It's the second one because the first one was Adagio for Strings and that's kind of an emo title. I'll save it for later, lol.
So anyway, I have about an hour to kill before I have to head off to my second and last design class for the day and I thought, since I haven't updated in like an eon, that I would... do that. But chances are I won't have much to talk about. But here I go!
So... uh. I got a new computer last weekend. It's pretty sweet and it has a big, beautiful, 22" monitor. I love it. It's really bright though and staring at it too long makes me feel uncomfortable (like I'm looking into my future or something) so I have to take breaks from it.
I pretty much love how it's not crappy and slow like my laptop. I've been slowly putting stuff on it like photoshop and games and stuff so it's not quite perfect yet but hopefully it will be soon.
In other news I started my classes. I'm pretty excited about all of them because I'm learning something different and useful in each of them (except for 211 because it's basically the history of writing which, while it can be very interesting, is usually pretty dull and not all that useful). I'm learning how to print stuff on a printing press and offset printer (like manual printing... I have to crank the ink roller over the paper and place down the stuff I want to print and stuff, it's pretty cool). I'm also getting farther into the design element of things. Right now we're designing identities for imaginary businesses. In illustration we're working with cut paper and making book covers. I really like the last two classes because not only are we learning really useful stuff but we're also learning about what we can expect from clients and how to deal with them and basically the do's and don't's of being an illustrator/designer. It's really great and I feel like I can learn a lot of really key things from these classes. And they're fun and my professors are great. So I'm really excited about this quarter and really the rest of my college career because I know I'll mainly be working with these professors and that's really cool.
So Lisa's gone back to Korea! I don't really miss her right now (lol, sorry Lisa) but that's just because I'm actually pretty used to not having her around. It is nice to have Lisa around and be able to talk to her about random stuff that I usually woudln't talk to my friends in Bellingham about, or maybe even not talk to Megan or Diana about. But, whether I miss Lisa or not, I'm still really excited to see her when I go to Korea this summer!
I think I'm going to go eat an apple. I haven't been eating many vitamins lately and my body is reacting to it. Byeee
ETA - I really want this fucking watch. Does anyone want to spend $230 on me? haha.

you know I probably should have something more relevant to say but this is all i have:
I totally learned how to bind books in my poetry class, and work those awesome old fashioned printers and stuff. My prof said that when he started collecting them back in like the 70s people would actually pay you to take them away, but now they are like SUPER expensive. This is also the awesome dude who use to get drunk at bumpershoot and walk up to people and force them to buy poetry. Awesome.
But in other news: you're a boss and your blog makes me happy.
