DX

The power went out today from about 10am - 7pm. I was unexpectedly productive during this time and actually got a comic page done (FINALLY after like 2 months of ignoring it). Then I had a pho dinner with Ainsley and Laine and then we had ice cream (it's a tradition).

Yesterday was Ainsley's birthday and she had a decent amount of people over and we watched Twilight and laughed at its horribleness and a few people drank a little. I didn't because I'm still very much in the mindset of, "Drinking on a school night is bad." But it was a lot of fun and we basically have the exact same friends so it was a very nice time. ^^ We also watched The Secret of NIMH which, as always, was amazing.

GAWD, I swear. I need to start going to bed at like 9 because when it turns into nighttime and I get tired I get SO FREAKING DEPRESSED. Buuuuh... whatever. I'll go to sleep now to avoid anymore DESPAIR.

Skiing!!

I had such a blast going skiing with my dad and his friends, Daryl and Jeff. They're like my uncles from different families. It was pretty much my first time skiing (I've gone skiing one other time and that was when I was about 7 and we went for like 15 minutes then the park closed). According to everyone I did really well for my first time. Granted I bit it like... almost every time I came down. But it wasn't anything I couldn't recover from and I learned a lot and I actually like falling so... there you go. I also have an incredible ability to laugh at myself very well. I see setbacks as challenges, usually, which prevents me from giving up so that I can overcome the challenge and "level up" in life. Sometimes it's a stupid way of life but generally I think it pays off. It was so much fun, though. I'm definitely addicted. Now I just need to rally up people to go with me so I won't have to slow down my dad and Daryl (since they're actually really good skiers). I took a few pictures. Not many since I was a little preoccupied with both falling on my ass and gliding gracefully down slopes. My battery is charging right now so I'll put pictures up when I can. It was such a beautiful day up there, though. I'm really glad the weather was like that for my first time skiing. I really, really had a lot of fun!

Musical Memories

Does music every remind you of a certain chapter or person/people in your life? It does me. There are bands that I connect with certain things in my life. Here is a list:

Fleet Foxes - Waiting for Minguk to come over to visit me so I wouldn't be lonely all day as well as the smell of Lisa's temporary apartment - a mix of Lotteria and dog.
Barbara Streisand/Patsy Cline - Sitting in Mom's car on a rainy day.
Elvis - Sitting in the living room of our house on Mana Wana looking at the plants and out the window.
Enya - Falling asleep in Lisa's room because I was too scared to sleep by myself.

I'm sure there are more but I just can't think of any at the moment. I'm sure there is a lot of music that reminds me of various things.
